Against all odds, new TV is still a thing that continues to happen. With the Emmys now firmly in the rearview, everyone’s eyes turn to the future.
As with past months, this latest batch of premieres features a handful of international offerings, some shows that were originally slated for earlier in the year, and some shows brought together quickly under some unusual production circumstances.
Per usual, these offerings are also spread out across broadcast, cable, and streaming. A couple of these are would-be ongoing series, but a majority of these have a limited on-screen shelf life. As the calendar starts to wane on 2020, they’re the ones that will most likely make the strongest cases for viewers’ attention.
To help plan out the next few weeks of TV watching, we’ve included synopses and basic viewing info for 20 of these new shows below. (And, as always, in case you’ve missed any of our past monthly roundups, you can find past editions for February, March, April, May, June, July, August, and our fall preview.)
