It happens to all of us: You’re minding your business, just trying to get through each day, and then you wake up one morning and it’s September.
Yes, fall is officially upon us! Much like last year, fall TV isn’t arriving in quite the same form as it has. At least the networks are back to their primetime schedules (more on some of those entries in a bit) and the streaming onslaught continues apace.
But one of the bigger ripples running through these brand new September shows is that many of them are looking to the past. Some are detailing national scandals, others are remaking seminal stories from the worlds of TV and film, and one may even remind you of a time when the closest that “Y: The Last Man” got to a screen was in the hands of an Oceanic 815 survivor.
There are also the customary literary adaptations and international co-productions that have crept toward mainstay status on this monthly roundup. While there aren’t any new platforms of particular note this month, these shows are decently spread out across networks and services of all availability types.
