Sony’s “The Girl With the Spider’s Web” is set to wrap production on April 14 in Stockholm, Sweden. “Don’t Breathe” and “Evil Dead” director Fede Álvarez is helming the adaptation of David Lagercrantz’s novel of the same name, with “The Crown” favorite Claire Foy taking on the role of Lisbeth Salander.

Foy appears opposite Sverrir Gudnason, Sylvia Hoeks, Claes Bang, Cameron Britton, LaKeith Stanfield, and Stephen Merchant.
“The Girl in the Spider’s Web” crew filmed a motorcycle chase scene on one of the final days of production.
“The Girl in the Spider’s Web” is Sony’s attempt to reboot Salander on the big screen. David Fincher was the last director to adapt the character on film with 2011’s “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”
Salander is Foy’s most prominant film role to date. She played Queen Elizabeth II for the first two seasons of Netflix’s “The Crown,” and recently starred on the big screen in Steven Soderbergh’s “Unsane.”
“The Girl With the Spider’s Web” started production in Berlin, German and Stockholm, Sweden last December. The film wrapped production by filming a final confrontation between Salander and the police.
Prior to “The Girl in the Spider’s Web,” Alvarez earned acclaim for his work in the horror genre, including the “Evil Dead” reboot “Don’t Breathe.”
