Anna Kendrick is ready to take on a superhero role and knows which character would be perfect for her. During a recent interview with Net A Porter, the “Trolls” actress revealed that she would like to take on the role of Squirrel Girl.
“My brother sent me a Squirrel Girl comic because he thinks I should [play her],” she said. “I don’t know what Squirrel Girl does other than be half squirrel, but I could be half squirrel!”
For those unfamiliar with the human mutant, Squirrel Girl is known as Doreen Green and made her first appearance in “Marvel Super-Heroes” volume 2, #8 in 1992. She has superhuman agility, senses and strength, a prehensile tail, razor-sharp claws, retractable knuckle spikes and the ability to communicate with squirrels, which has helped her defeat major villains such as Dr. Doom and Thanos.
We could definitely see her kicking ass and bringing the superhero to life!
In the meantime, while Marvel digests the idea of making it happen, Kendrick can be seen next in the comedy “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,” starring Zac Efron, Adam Devine and Aubrey Plaza. The film arrives in theaters July 8. She also co-stars alongside Justin Timberlake in the animated feature “Trolls,” out November 4.
