READ MORE: Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Zombie Pic ‘Maggie’ Pulled From TIFF After Lionsgate Pick It Up
Arnold Schwarzenegger is trading in machine guns for paternal heartache in the striking new trailer for “Maggie.” Directed by Henry Hobson, the post-apocalyptic horror drama stars Schwarzenegger as a loving Midwestern father who stays by his daughter’s side after she is infected with a cannibalistic zombie disease. Abigail Breslin and Joely Richardson also star.
The atmospheric, slow-burn thriller marks a dramatic departure for the 67-year-old actor best known for explosive action set pieces. “Maggie” was originally scheduled to debut at the Toronto Film Festival last September but was pulled when Lionsgate acquired the picture and set a 2015 release date. The movie will now premiere next month at the Tribeca Film Festival before its May 8 release date.
