Sometimes rumored names are just that, mentioned in passing, never to be heard of again. But Gal Gadot has been on the tip of tongues for at least a month now, and now she’s getting the role of a lifetime.
Warner Bros. has announced that the actress has landed the role of Wonder Woman in “Batman Vs. Superman.” Gadot is likely best known for her role as Gisele in the “Fast & Furious,” “Fast Five” and “Fast & Furious 6” but she also appeared in “Knight & Day” so consider her tentpole experience verified.
Of course, the extent and details of her role will be kept quiet until Zack Sndyer and co. want you to know, but considering that Lex Luthor, Nightwing and Doomsday are already rumored for this sequel, this one is going to have a lot folks elbowing for room. Variety adds you can probably expect “several members of the Justice League” to make appearances in the film, while Callan Mulvey (“Zero Dark Thirty,” “300: Rise of the Empire”) is being eyed for the (unnamed) villain.
“Batman Vs. Superman”arrives on July 17, 2015.
