Five years after the Ghostbusters saved New York from a ghost apocalypse, everyone thinks they’re frauds in “Ghostbusters II.” The new Honest Trailer takes a look at the 1989 sequel that actually already tarnished the franchise, according to Screen Junkies.
“Before you see the reboot that the Internet thinks will be an unfunny attempt to cash in on your nostalgia for the original ‘Ghostbusters,’ revisit the unfunny attempt at a sequel that kinda already took care of that,” says the voiceover.

The video pokes fun at the supernatural film by stating that the plot “is exactly the same as the first movie, but bad.” While it’s fun to see the original cast together again, it points out that this follow-up flick ruined the franchise by “doubling down on lame kid stuff” and taking all the fun grown-up comedy out of it.
It also reminds you of other terrible “Ghostbusters”-themed creations such as the unplayable video games and the animated series “Extreme Ghostbusters.” Of course, they don’t forget to mention that Bill Murray never wants to be part of a “Ghostbusters” movie, Rick Moranis stopped acting, Harold Ramis died and that Dan Aykroyd lost his mind – but Ernie Hudson is up for anything!
Starring “Elwood Boos, Harold Ramissed, Ringo, A Very Murray Sequel, Honey I Busted The Ghost” and more, watch the hilarious Honest Trailer below:
