IFC Midnight Nabs Rights Dan Beers' Gross-Out Farce 'Premature'

Dan Beers’ comedy “Premature” could be described as “American Pie” meets “Groundhog Day.”

All US distribution rights for this teen sex flick (written by Dan Beers and Mathew Harawitz) were just acquired by IFC Midnight, following the film’s world premiere at this year’s South By Southwest Film Festival.

“Premature” stars newcomer John Karna, who navigates the most important day of his life coming up on the end of his senior year in high school. But as the day progresses, an odd turn of events causes him to relive the day over and over again. Indiewire’s Eric Kohn called the comedy “a gross-out farce that’s consistently down to earth.” You can read the review here

Beers’ comedy also stars Katie Findlay, Craig Roberts and Alan Tudyk. No release date has been announced yet.
