Dear Indiewire reader,
It’s hard to believe, but Indiewire will be 18 years old this June.
What began as a daily email newsletter for fellow film fans has grown
into a massive website and blog network with unparalleled indie film,
Hollywood, and TV coverage. For the makers, the industry and the fans —
we cover it all.
As we’ve seen filmmaking change, Indiewire has changed along with it.
When we saw that some of the finest filmmakers had a hand in creating
great TV, we followed them. When we saw our readers’ insatiable appetite
for information about how to control their films before, during and
after production, we expanded our Filmmaker Toolkit. And when we saw a
gap between critical thinking and critical consensus around movies, we
launched Criticwire.
And at 18, we feel like we’re just getting started. We see so much
potential in the worlds we cover and we want to make sure we make the
most of it. For us, that means knowing more about you.
We’ve kept the survey brief. And as an incentive, our friends at Canon U.S.A. will provide a Canon XA20 HD professional camcorder to the reader with the most creative idea on how they will use the camera. (This question is optional for the survey, but required for a chance to win the camera. Entries will be judged on their creativity by Indiewire editors. You must answer by Friday February 14th at 11:59pm.)
As always, thanks for reading.
