The new distributor Indomina Releasing has acquired North American rights to Leon Ford’s Aussie comedy “Griff the Invisible.” The film, which stars “True Blood”‘s Ryan Kwanten and Maeve Dermody was both written and directed by Ford. “Griff” stars Kwanten as Griff, a paper-pusher by day, superhero by night, who meets Melody (Dermody) who is just as ambitious as he is.
Indomina CEO Jasbinder Singh Mann noted, “Ryan Kwanten is a rising star, whose legion of fans packed the Toronto International Film Festival screenings. Ryan alongside Maeve Dermody deliver charming performances, bringing heart to the superhero genre.” The film’s sales agent, Winnie Lau from Fortissimo, added, “This is a funny and moving film that will appeal to a wide audience across North America. Both the Fortissimo team and filmmakers are confident the film is in great hands with such innovative distributor as Indomina and audiences across America will all now have the chance to see a film we are all proud to be involved with.”
The deal was brokered brokered by Indomina Releasing’s Vice President of Acquisitions, Rob Williams and Fortissimo’s Senior Vice President, Winnie Lau.
