James Franco To Play Twin Brothers In David Simon’s New Porn Industry-Set HBO Series

Alright, so this is basically the role James Franco was born to play (outside maybe James Dean, which he’s already done): Twin porn industry moguls in the 1970s. And that’s reportedly exactly what he’ll be doing in “The Wire” creator David Simon’s new HBO series “The Deuce.” The series will feature Franco in dual lead roles, and he’ll also co-produce.  We basically bow down to anything David Simon does, so our anticipation is already very high for how that all goes down.

“Porn, prostitution, pimps, the Mob, after-hours nightlife, institutional corruption, and New York in its Wild West heyday,” said George Pelecanos, a writer and producer on “The Wire.” “It’s a world rich in character, and a fascinating story we’re eager to tell.”

And one we’re eager to watch.
