Charlie Hunnam is the chosen one in Guy Ritchie’s “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” The film’s first trailer was showcased at Saturday’s Comic-Con celebration, where fans had the chance to see the epic fantasy action/adventure come to life.
Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the film, an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth. The story traces Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne.
When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea of who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.
Astrid Bergès-Frisbey co-stars as Mage, Djimon Hounsou as Bedivere, Aidan Gillen as Goosefat Bill and Eric Bana as Arthur’s father, King Uther Pendragon. “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is slated for release on March 24, 2017.
