Louisiana Film Prize Will Award iTunes Distribution & Cash Prizes Five Short Filmmakers

The Louisiana Film Prize launched its third annual filmmaking competition today, which awards five short filmmakers with cash prizes and distribution through a partnership with Shorts International. This year, the Prize will also give out best actor and best actress honors.

The Grand Prize winner will receive $50,000 — one of the largest cash prizes for a shorts festival — and the top five filmmakers will receive $3,000 for their submissions. Films must be shot in the Shreveport-Bossier area of Louisiana. The 2014 Louisiana Film Prize jury, a combination of film industry executives, filmmakers, and press, will be announced this spring.

Last year, the festival drew 86 submissions. The deadline for submissions is July 7. Learn more here.
