I’m proud to announce our newest addition to the indieWIRE blog network: Shadow and Act.
Founded two years ago by New York-based Tambay Obenson and run with a collective of writers from around the country, Shadow and Act has garnered an impressive audience in its short life. The blog takes its name from the seminal 1964 essay collection by Ralph Ellison — and we think it’s the best resource for news and analysis around African-Americans across all entertainment platforms.
While it covers castings, new trailers and web series previews, Shadow and Act also tackles topics like African-American science fiction, why Master P’s Better Black Television network hasn’t come to light and hosts a podcast on the BlogRadio Network. Most of all, it’s smart writing, clever coverage and a great read — everything we want in a blog network member. (And if you have a blog you think we should consider for the network, or would like to recommend someone else’s, tell us! Email is editors@indiewire.com.)
I hope you’ll enjoy Shadow and Act on indieWIRE; we’re looking forward to featuring their work.
