Neill Blomkamp’s 'Alien': Sigourney Weaver Assures Fans That 'It's Amazing Script'

Sigourney Weaver is reassuring die-hard “Alien” fans that the wheels are still turning on the Neill Blomkamp upcoming untitled film which was originally slated for 2017. Things had to be changed when Ridley Scott decided to start production on his “Prometheus” sequel, “Alien: Covenant” which bumped the project.

But don’t worry because the Blomkamp feature hasn’t gone away completely. Weaver recently spoke about about the film at an event for VMware and told fans that the project, “is worth the wait” and has an amazing script.

“Well, I think it is. Ridley asked Neill not to make our ‘Alien’ ’til after ‘Prometheus 2.’  [Ridley] wanted his movie to shoot and be released first. But it’s an amazing script, and Neill and I are really excited about doing it,” she said. “We’re doing other things until we can get going on that. I’d be really surprised if we didn’t do it, because it’s such a great script, and we love working together. So, it’s just going to take a little bit longer to get out to you, but it’ll be worth the wait.”
