Outfest 2015, presented by HBO, goes down July 9-19 in Los Angeles and as always, the lineup this year is looking strong.

The festival will open with “Tig,” the critically acclaimed Sundance doc about how comedian Tig Notaro channelled her cancer diagnosis into stand-up material, featuring Sarah Silverman, Zach Galifianakis and Louis C.K.

Also a Sundance premiere, Sebastián Silva’s tart Brooklyn-set comedy “Nasty Baby,” winner of Berlin’s Teddy Award this year, is Outfest’s US Dramatic Centerpiece. What begins as a gentle domestic comedy about modern-day parenting eventually takes a hairpin, and very disturbing, turn to horror.

Alongside these American indies, Outfest has slated two International Centerpieces. Sundance World Cinema Directing Award winner Alanté Kavaïté’s “The Summer of Sangaile” follows a 17-year-old aeronautics whiz. Meanwhile, revered Brit auteur Peter Greenaway, whose film outings are becoming vanishingly rare, returns with Golden Berlin Bear nominee “Eisenstein in Guanajuato.” The avant-biopic looks at Russian iconoclast Sergei Eisenstein’s 10 sensually stirring days spent in the title city in 1931, a heady influence on his life and films.

Charming Sundance Grand Jury nominee “Best of Enemies,” from Morgan Neville and Robert Gordon, is Outfest’s Documentary Centerpiece. The film examines the legendary 1968 television debates between the liberal Gore Vidal and the conservative William F. Buckley Jr. In addition, Malcolm Ingram’s inspirational documentary on LGBT athletes, “Out to Win,” will also be showcased.

Finally, Outfest will close on July 19 with “The New Girlfriend,” pitched as one-of-a-kind gender-bending melodrama from French queer cinema director François Ozon, starring five-time Cesar Award nominee Romain Duris and two-time Cesar Award nominee Anais Demoustier. The film has played the festival circuit up and down, starting with a TIFF premiere last Fall.

The complete lineup for the 2015 Outfest Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival will be announced on June 3.
