Fox Searchlight has picked a March 1, 2013 release date for “Stoker,” the same day as Neill Blomkamp’s “Elysium.” Directed by Park Chan-wook (“Oldboy”) and scripted by Wentworth Miller, the film features Mia Wasikowska (“Jane Eyre,” “Alice in Wonderland”), Matthew Goode (“A Single Man,” “Brideshead Revisited”), Dermot Mulroney (“My Best Friend’s Wedding,” “The Grey”), Jacki Weaver (“Animal Kingdom”) and Nicole Kidman (“The Hours,” “The Others”). Check out the synopsis below.
After India’s (Wasikowska’s) father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie (Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother (Kidman). Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.
