SnagFilms Launches National Initiative Honor Military Heroes the Doc 'Honor Flight'

Indiewire’s parent company SnagFilms is launching an ambitious “Honor Our Heroes” national initiative in support of the film “Honor Flight,” one that will include military screenings, massive theatrical screenings with Tugg and a vast social media campaign. The documentary focuses on the current lives and battlefield experiences of four living WWII veterans and the Midwest community that came together to give them the trip of a lifetime — all as part of a national effort.

“The story of this film touches everyone who sees it, and we are determined to keep expanding the audience as much as possible,” said Damian Benders, SnagFilms’ SVP of Programming & Marketing. “All of our lives have been impacted in big and small ways by military veterans and ‘Honor Our Heroes’ provides an opportunity to offer a personal thank you.”

Tugg, Inc., the platform that allows people the ability to create their own screenings at theaters across the U.S., has expanded the film’s theatrical run from eight cities to over 80 additional ones (with more reportedly to come) due to demand. The documentary will also screen for members of the armed forces, military personnel and invited guests at the U.S. Army Airborne and Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville, NC on May 17 and at the Jacksonville Firefighter Hall in Jacksonville, FL on May 23.

As part of their social media campaign, SnagFilm invites those who have military heroes in their own lives to send an online telegram via Facebook. Go here for more information. To join one of the screenings or start you own, visit here. “Honor Flight” premieres on cable VOD and iTunes on May 14.
