While he isn’t berating inanimate objects, Clint Eastwood makes movies, and this Friday he’ll take his cantankerous self to the baseball diamond in “Trouble With The Curve” (review here). It’s another rare acting outing for the man who has mostly spent the last little while behind the camera, but that doesn’t mean he still isn’t in demand. It was just last month that producer Avi Lerner boasted that he had Nic Cage on board for “The Expendables 3” with plans to approach some new names like Wesley Snipes, Harrison Ford and yes, Eastwood. Well, there’s one phone call that Lerner can probably take off his list.
The actor/director recently sat down for a chat with the hugely irritating dude from “Extra” who asked him about potentially starring in the third movie. Citing that he hasn’t seen a script or even watched the movies, Eastwood growled “Probably not,” said he’d probably want to direct something before joking he might helm the third installment. And yeah, that’s pretty much what we figured. As quirky as it would be, we’d reckon Eastwood probably has other (and better) things he wants to do other than mock his own image. But hey, never hurts to give it the old college try and we’re guessing a script will come his way anyway.
Anyway, you can check out the interivew below and watch Eastwood professionally handle a thoroughly insipid question about Dirty Harry. He also doesn’t think Barack Obama truly likes him. “Trouble With The Curve” opens on Friday. [via JoBlo]
