Strand Releasing has picked up North American rights to director William C. Sullivan’s sexy, LGBT-centric “That’s Not Us,” which played Frameline, Outfest, and InsideOut Toronto Film Festival earlier this year and won an ensemble award at Out On Film in Atlanta. The film will also open the IMAGE+NATION festival in Montreal later this month.

The film chronicles the intimate lives of three 20-something couples—one straight, one gay, one lesbian—over the course of a few days at the end of summer. “That’s Not Us” was co-written and shot by Derek Dodge and produced by co-stars Mark Berger and Sarah Wharton. Strand, which is also distributing Catherine Corsini’s “Summertime,” Peter Greenaway’s “Eisenstein in Guanajuato,” and Ulrich Seidl’s “In the Basement,” plans a multi-platform release next spring.
