Soctt Coffey’s feature premiered at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival. A girl fresh out of college (Emma Roberts) believes she’s destined to be the next big poet, but it all seems to be heading nowhere as she lives with her parents and takes a job at the local sex shop. In an effort to launch into her ideal life, she pursues a mentorship with a published and reclusive writer (John Cusack).

“Alan Partridge” (February 27)
Steve Coogan’s longtime kooky character has come from spoof show to TV to film. In “Alan Partridge,” the titular Alan tries to revive his quasi-successful career while trying not to get killed after violent events ensue at North Norfolk Digital Radio.

“The Art of the Steal” (February 7)
“The Art Of The Steal” brings together the ragtag crew of Kurt Russell, Jay Baruchel, Matt Dillon and more for a heist comedy that premiered late last year at the Toronto International Film Festival. The action-comedy centers on Crunch Calhoun (Russell), a third rate motorcycle
daredevil and semi-reformed art thief, who agrees to get back into the
con game and pull off just one more big time score with his
untrustworthy brother Nicky (Dillon).

“Barefoot” (February 21)
Andrew Fleming’s film starring Evan Rachel Wood premiered at the Santa Barbara Film Fest just this month on February 2nd. The rom com follows the black sheep of a well-to-do family as he invites a mental patient (also shoeless eccentric) home as his date for his brother’s wedding. She surprises him and everyone else when she stands out as charming, stark, and warm.

Bets, blood, booze, and a big reward are at center stage in E.L. Katz’s gnarly thriller. When a floundering family man loses his job and faces debt, he and his friend head to the local bar, where they meet a mysterious couple. After a round of drinks, a series of dares and bets ensue, and each act of twisted humor pushes how far the desperate man is willing to go. Indiewire’s Eric Kohn said “Even when it’s fairly obvious where things are headed, the sick ride continues to speed forward, arriving at a gloriously absurd final shot that perfectly encapsulates both the ideas and visceral experience of the movie in their entirety.”

“Dead Dad” (February 4)
A hit on the festival circuit (it picked up the Audience Award at the
Tallgrass International Film Festival and played at a slew of others
including Woodstock and Florida), “Dead Dad” centers on three estranged
siblings who return home to tend to their father’s remains following his
unexpected death. The problem? Nobody wants to keep the ashes.

“Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me” (February 27)
Elaine Stritch, Broadway star and brash diva, dishes stories and secrets about her life and times in show biz. The 87-year-old is intimate, funny, and brutally honest in the documentary shot over the course of a year. Complete with interviews and appearances from Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Nathan Lane, and John Turturro, this production is a bitingly funny backstage pass.

“Jimmy P.” (February 20)
The French film based largely off George Devereux’s nonfiction book “Reality and Dream” made its world premiere in competition at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and had its North American debut at the 51st New York Film Festival. The true story details the “Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian” through a deep friendship between a Native American veteran and a French psychoanalyst. Benicio Del Toro stars as the titular Jimmy Picard.

“The Right Kind of Wrong” (February 6)
Director Jeremiah Chechnik was known for films like “Benny and Joon” and “Tall Tale.” After 15 years, he returns to features films with “The Right Kind of Wrong,” a romantic comedy about a dishwasher would-be writer who falls in love with a woman on the day of her wedding to another man.

“Someone Marry Barry” (February 13)
Writer/director Rob Pearlstein has dabbled in shorts and TV series such as “Psych” and “Matumbo Goldberg.” His first feature “Someone Marry Barry” is about three friends who scheme to marry off the socially inept Barry. When he comes across someone as wacky as he is, the misadventures ensue.
