Watch: 8 Behind-The-Scenes Featurettes From ‘Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation’ And More
Have you got a favorite action movie of the year? We’d presume that would be a battle between “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol.” The latter, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, is clearly written around its set pieces: the action sequences are thought out and designed first and the movie’s plot is reverse engineered to fill the spaces between the explosions and punching. While that seems iffy, all one has to do is see a similar and less-successful take on this dubious approach in “Spectre” to appreciate how well and entertainingly it’s pulled off in ‘Rogue Nation.’
‘Rogue Nation’ might not have the greatest story in the world, but looking back, it’s still one of the most enjoyable summer tentpoles if you’re looking for just a blast of escapist entertainment.
“Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation” is now on Blu-Ray so Paramount has been releasing a ton of featurettes from the movie too. So, we’ve collected eight featurettes in total released so far which is a great tease for all the chocked-full extras on the DVD, plus a clip that sets up the film’s big water stunt. Will McQuarrie return for ‘Mission Impossible 6’? Sure looks that way, and fan fave Rebecca Ferguson will likely be back as well. Watch below.
