Watch: Alicia Vikander is More Graceful Than Ever New 'The Danish Girl' Clip

After winning the Oscar for Best Actor last year with his performance in “The Theory of Everything,” all eyes have been on Eddie Redmayne as he takes on another highly transformative role in Tom Hooper’s “The Danish Girl.” The drama features the actor as artist Lili Elbe, a transgender woman who was one of the first patients to receive gender reassignment surgery. While Redmayne has been earning raves on the festival circuit for his work, it looks like the movie may truly belong to Alicia Vikander, the year’s breakout actress who plays Lili’s resilient wife Gerda Wegener.

Such is the case in a new clip from the film, which is set at a costume party and features Vikander gracefully remembering how her and Redmayne’s characters first met. Miles away from her hypnotic turn in this year’s “Ex Machina,” Vikander is a radiant and full of charisma here. Watch the clip above.

“The Danish Girl” opens in select theaters November 27.
