The film co-stars Jeremy Jordan as Jaime, an up-and-coming novelist. Kendrick plays Cathy, an aspiring actress. The story follows the journey of their five year relationship, but with an unexpected twist: Jaime’s side of the story is told in chronological order; his songs moving linearly through time. Cathy’s, however, moves backwards — her side of the story is told from the end of their relationship to the beginning. Check out the clip below, obviously from a happy point in Cathy’s story.
“The Last Five Years” will hit theaters on Valentine’s Day, 2015.
