Bradley Cooper has been many things in his career: a dimwitted camp counselor, a brutish fiancé, an unfaithful husband, a headstrong party monster, a chatty raccoon, and an American war hero.
Now he steps into the kitchen as Adam Jones in “Burnt,” as a young prodigy chef who once lost it all to drugs and debauchery now seeking to reclaim his coveted Michelin Star stamp-of-approval from the Paris restaurant scene.
Invoking the jazzy, whirling sensation of a music biopic trailer, “Burnt” pits Jones’ new career revival on a collision path with those who cannot, or will not, allow him to succeed. Impossibility? Immortality? Batali? This egg-whipping good time could make Jon Favreau’s “Chef” look like an episode of “Downtown Abbey.”
“Burnt” heats up theaters from TWC on October 23.
