Suffragette,” starring Carey Mulligan and Meryl Streep, centers around the fight for women’s rights in early 20th century Britain, but the film’s #HopeForOurDaughters campaign makes clear that the struggle for gender equality is as universal and present as ever.

In a new video for the campaign, young girls are asked if alarming statistics about issues like female poverty and education access are true of the year 1915 or 2015. The girls each guess 1915, only to be shocked by the correct answer.

The video, directed by documentarian Lucy Walker, outlines the #HopeForOurDaughters campaign, asking for people to post their hopes for future women on Instagram, tagged with #HopeForOurDaughters. According to Mulligan, Focus Features, the studio releasing “Suffragette,” will donate $1 to Equality Now for each post.

“Suffragette” is in theaters now. Watch the #HopeForOurDaughters video above.
