With the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) lineup announced earlier today, an influx of photos, trailers and other promotional material for the selected films have landed. Among them is “Miss Julie,” a sultry drama starring Jessica Chastain that has just received its first trailer.
Based on the play by August Strindberg, “Miss Julie” stars Chastain in the titular role. Miss Julie is the daughter of a count who is on a mission to seduce her father’s valet, played by Colin Farrell.
The first trailer is a dark and seductive look at the burgeoning relationship between Chastain’s wild character and Farrell’s, who desperately tries to ignore her advances. The film takes place in Ireland in the 1880s.
Renowned actress Liv Ullmann directed “Miss Julie,” which will make its world premiere at TIFF, held this year from September 4-14. Check out the trailer below.
