Watch: Michelle Williams Falls for a German Soldier in First ‘Suite Francaise’ Trailer

Adapted from Irene Nemirovsky’s novel of the same name, the movie takes place in World War II era France during the early years of the Nazi occupation. Michelle Williams plays a French woman who embarks on a forbidden with affair with a German soldier stationed in her village (Matthias Schoenaerts). Kristin Scott Thomas and Sam Riley also star in the film written and directed by Saul Dibb ("The Duchess"). 

"Suite Francaise" will share its world debut with 90 other films at the American Film Market next month. It opens in the U.K. on January 23, 2015. The Weinstein Company has yet to announce a U.S. release date.
