Watch: On Oscar Night ‘We All Dream in Gold,’ 88th Academy Awards Ad Spot, Posters Promise

“There is one night we all dream in gold,” Morgan Freeman says in the first ad for the 88th Academy Awards, a tagline repeated in the shiny script of the telecast’s promotional posters (see below). The ceremony, hosted by Chris Rock, will be broadcast live on ABC Sunday, February 28 at 7pm Eastern.

With brief glimpses of contenders “Trainwreck,” “Steve Jobs,” “Brooklyn,” “The Martian,” “Joy,” “Room,” and “Creed,” the 30-second spot links the wide-open field (and its most recognizable stars) together by discussing the various dreams on display: falling in love, intergalactic travel, changing the world. Beside Rock and the famed statuette, the posters feature past winners Jamie Foxx (“Ray”), Meryl Streep (“The Iron Lady”), Lupita Nyong’o (“12 Years a Slave”), Common and John Legend (“Selma”), Ben Affleck (“Argo”), and more.
