As Todd Haynes’ beloved and acclaimed new drama arrives in select theaters today, The Weinstein Company has given the incessantly hailed and beautifully wrought love story a new breathless trailer.
Much like the film, the trailer combines the movie’s impressive cinematography with a bewitching score, creating a clip that only provides a glimpse of the profoundly realized world of the film.
“Carol,” which is based on the Patricia Highsmith novel “The Price of Salt,” centers on a romance between a married woman (Cate Blanchett) and a department store clerk (Rooney Mara). Both actresses have earned impressive Oscar buzz for their performances, with Haynes also receiving his share of the buzz, too. Watch the enchanting trailer above.
