Trailer Watch: The Art of Getting By Stars Roberts, Highmore
As promised, Fox Searchlight has supplied a new trailer for writer-director Gavin Weisen’s recently retitled feature debut The Art of Getting By, starring Emma Roberts (a.k.a. Julia Roberts’s niece), Freddie Highmore, Michael Angarano, Elizabeth Reaser, Rita Wilson, Blair Underwood, Alicia Silverstone and Sam Robards.
Previously titled Homework, Fox Searchlight picked up the film at Sundance (where it garnered some unfortunate early trade reviews, a sampling below) and will release it limited on June 17. Roberts’ camp is trying hard to turn her into an indie darling, but if It’s Kind of A Funny Story (a good movie from Half Nelson writer-directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck) didn’t do it, we doubt this will.
