You don’t have to wait for Memorial Day or Amazon Prime Day to get great deals on gadgets that will turn your house into a smart home. Echo Dot, 4th Generation Smart Speaker

From the crisp sound, to the compact design, it’s probably no surprise that the Echo Dot reigns as Amazon’s most popular Alexa-enabled smart speaker. Through the magic of voice control technology you can turn your home into a multi-functional space to stream songs from Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music, SiriusXM and other platforms. Echo Dot is compatible with other Echo models for a full listening experience. You can also use it for audiobooks and podcasts, and add restrictions to make Alexa more kid-friendly. For more security, you can set up Guard for free through the Alexa app, to receive mobile alerts  if your Echo detects a potential emergency such as a break-in, or the sound of a smoke detector. And if you buy them in a pair you’ll save $10.

Echo Show 5 Smart Display

Echo Show 5 helps you stay connected through video calling, but you can use it as a multi-functional control dock for your home. The easy-to-use, 5.5” display screen allows you to do a bunch of different things such as check the weather, catch up on the latest news headlines, stream music, or follow along with cooking recipes. When you’re not video chatting with friends and family, the Echo 5 can be used as a digital photo album with help from Amazon Photos and Alexa (Prime members get unlimited photo storage). Echo 5 also works as a security camera, so that you can see visitors as they arrive.

Ring Stick Up Camera

Since we’re talking safety, the Ring home camera is probably one of the most popular security cameras on the market. This Ring Stick Up Camera, which can be mounted inside or outdoors, lets you hear and speak to people from your phone, tablet, or an Echo device (such as the Echo Show 5), and Stick Up Cam Battery — a mountable, battery-powered camera that connects to Wifi. The Ring Stick Up Camera features advanced motion detectors, and custom privacy settings.

KAMEP WirelessWaterproof Home Security Doorbell Camera

This wireless home security camera from KAMEP is a good alternative to Ring cameras. It’s equipped with a 166-degree wide angle lens, 120-degree detection range, and a built-in PIR motion sensor so that it can detect even the slightest movements. You will receive security notifications directly to your phone, plus there’s a mobile app that allows you to speak to whoever rings the doorbell in real time (or you can pre-record a video message). If you’d rather not be disturbed, you can mute the indoor chime. The doorbell comes with two 18650 batteries, each of which lasts up to six months before needing a recharge. And the 128G Micro SD and Cloud storage lets you store recordings for easy playback, no matter where you are.

Apple Ipad Pro, 256GB (12.9-Inch)

For the iPad shopper on a budget, this fourth generation 12.9″ Apple iPad has a powerful A12Z Bionic processor that can rival many of the newer laptops. The refurbished iPad holds 256GB of storage and includes a 12mp wide camera, edge-to-edge Liquid Retina display, ProMotion technology, along with wide color and True Tone support. Other features include a 10 MP ultra wide camera, a 7MP TrueDepth front camera, Face ID, and an LiDAR Scanner that uses light reflection to determine distance. Additionally, the 12.9″ iPad Pro has four-speaker audio, five studio-quality microphones, and up to 10 hours of battery life. You can also pair it with Apple’s Magic Keyboard, Smart Keyboard Folio, and Apple Pencil.

TP-Link AC1750 Smart WiFi Router

With so many of us spending more time at home, it’s important to have a good wireless router. This AC1750 model from TP-Link is a solid choice and it’s currently on sale. The dual band gigabit wireless internet router works with Alexa and other WiFi-compatible devices, as well as VPN servers. It features Gigabit and USB ports, and four Gigabit LAN ports, the latter of which makes it ideal for gaming. As far as the no-frills design goes, the base of the router has three external antennas giving you up to 2,500 square feet of WiFi coverage. Advanced WPA/WPA2 wireless encryption and parental controls help you keep your devices secure, and the Tether app allows you to set up your router, manage WiFi at home, or access it remotely through the cloud.
