After six years off the air, fans can officially get back in “The Game.” The rebooted sports dramedy that explores the lives of football players and their families premiered on Paramount+ on November 11.

Hosea Chanchez (“Black Lightening”) and Wendy Raquel Robinson (“Insecure”) reprise their roles as footballer Malik Wright, and Wright’s sports agent mother, Tasha Mack. The series, however, will feature a mix of old and new players (it’s also set in Las Vegas instead of San Diego).

Adriyan Rae (“Chicago Fire”) plays Brittany Pitts, the daughter of Jason and Kelly Pitts; Vaughn Hebron (“Tyler Perry’s The Oval”) plays Jamison Fields, an undrafted free agent. Analisa Velez (“Sneaky Pete”) is Brittany’s best friend, Raquel Navarro, and Toby Sandeman (“Power Book III: Raising Kanan”) plays Garret Evans, the top football player in the league.

Brittany Daniels (“#blackAF”), who played Kelly Pitts in the original series, is returning to the new installment, along with Pooch Hall (“Ray Donovan”) as Derwin Davis. Both are slated to appear in all 10 episodes in Season 1.

Tia Mowry won’t be coming back as Davis’ wife, Melanie, but the actress hasn’t ruled out a possible return. “Never say never. I mean, as it stands for right now, we aren’t in any talks or communication about me coming back to the show,“ Mowry said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

New episodes of “The Game” reboot will drop on Paramount+ every Thursday. If you’re not already subscribed, try it out with a free seven-day trial so you can stream “The Game” and more content on the platform.

After the first week, subscriptions start at just $4.99 a month (or $49.99 a year) for ad-free streaming on up to three devices. Paramount+ also has a premium plan at $9.99 a month (or $99.99 a year), which gets you more channels than the cheaper plan, and you can download titles to stream offline. To save a few more bucks, bundle Paramount+ and Showtime for just $11.99 a month.

The premium streaming service, owned by ViacomCBS, features a mountain of hit shows, must-watch movies, live sports, breaking news, and original series, which includes programming from BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, and the Smithsonian Channel.

The Paramount+ streaming library also includes all nine seasons of the first installment of “The Game,” which initially aired on the CW before being canceled in 2009 and picked up by BET, where it remained until 2015.

“The Game” reboot is executive produced by series creator Mara Brock Akil alongside her husband, Salim Akil, showrunner and writer Devon Greggory, and original executive producer Kelsey Grammer, and Tony Russo. The series is produced by CBS Studios, Akil Productions, and Gramnet NH Productions.
