It seems like Halloween was made for Tim Burton. His distinctive style of stop-motion animation and gothic fantasy films brought us creepy classics such as “Edward Scissorhands,” “Beetlejuice,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Sleepy Hollow,” “Caroline,” and “Corpse Bride.”

After nearly four decades as a filmmaker, Burton will make his TV directorial debut with the Netflix series “Wednesday,” due out next year. In the meantime, celebrating spooky season just doesn’t feel right without something inspired by Burton’s genius. Below, we’ve compiled a list of awesome collectibles, movie box sets, and more Burton-esque items to buy for yourself or gift to someone else. For additional Halloween merchandise, check out our picks for the best superhero costumes, costumes for movie and TV lovers, and these frighteningly delicious cookbooks.

“Tim Burton” by Tim Burton, Jenny He, and Ron Magliozzi

“Tim Burton” was originally published in 2009 to correspond with the Tim Burton retroactive exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art. According to at least one customer, this book will “leave you wanting more” as it explores the evolution of the director’s creative practices — from his earliest childhood drawings through some of the classics in his film catalog. The book is illustrated with works on paper, moving-image stills, concept art (drawn and painted), puppets and maquettes, storyboards, and other examples of Burton’s work as a graphic artist on non-film projects, and previously unseen works from personal archive.

Funko Advent Calendar

It’s never too early to purchase an Advent Calendar. Once the holiday season officially kicks off, you’ll be able to count down the holidays in spooky style with this Nightmare Before Christmas advent calendar from Funko! Pop. “The Art of Tim Burton” by Leah Galo and Tim Burton

“The Art of Tim Burton” makes a great gift item for Burton fans. A definitive compilation of 40 years of artistry, this massive book is grouped into 13 chapters that examine common themes in Burton’s work (from his fascination with clowns to his passion for misunderstood monsters). “The Art of Tim Burton” features over 430 pages, and includes more than 1,000 illustrations from Burton’s personal archives.

Coraline: Beware the Other Mother Board Game

“Coraline: Beware the Other Mother” is a card game for up to four players. Each player assumes the roles of the Ghost Children captured by the Beldam (the Other Mother), who are now trying to free Coraline (and her parents) from the Beldam’s evil clutches. The object of the game is for players to work together to guide Coraline through the Other World while she attempts to find the Skeleton Key, the Eyes of the Ghost Children, and the Snow Globe that holds her imprisoned parents. The players all win or lose the game together as a team.

It’s rare that you see many cuckoo clocks nowadays, especially ones that belt out “This is Halloween!” at the top of each hour. But then again, what else would you expect from a Burton-inspired timepiece? In addition to the popular tune that informs you of the time, Skellington’s beloved fur pal, Zero, pops in and out of the doors atop the Town Hall. The clock and its characters are hand-cast and hand-painted to capture the film’s spooky ambience and vivid nightmarish colors. This item requires three “AAA” batteries and one “AA” battery, which are not included in the purchase.
