‘Magic Camp’ Review: Adam DeVine Stars in Disney+’s Most Uninspired Original Yet
Mark Waters’ summer camp comedy isn’t a total bomb, but it feels like the kind forgettable programming the streamer has so far avoided.

This slapdash Adam Devine comedy is exactly what you would expect from a “her.” ripoff written by the team behind “The Hangover” franchise.
The latest Netflix Original is the kind of vaguely passable entertainment that wants points just for existing.
Devine stars in the film alongside Alexandra Daddario, flipping the script on rom-coms and the “Groundhog Day” genre of time travel romance.
The title is a reference to Bill Paxton’s line in James Cameron’s “Aliens.”
Full of comedy but maybe not so much in the way of handing out awards, host Adam Devine anchored a rushed night that maybe represents an existential crisis for the entire format.
Adam DeVine is set to host the first annual ceremony, with nominees including “Transparent,” “O.J.: Made in America,” “Broad City,” and many more.
The honeymoon phase may not last very long for this one.
