“It felt to us it would be extremely fraudulent to bring the show back quickly,” Fox TV Group chairman Dana Walden said.
No details on the judges or host yet, but ABC and producers promise a “bigger, bolder and better-than-ever” version, and confirm that the singing competition will be back in the 2017-2018 TV season.
Discussions about the show’s return are taking place less than a year after its “Farewell Season.”
