“The Academy celebrates achievement in the art of filmmaking, which seeks to transcend borders and speak to audiences around the world, regardless of national, ethnic, or religious differences.”
Taraneh Alidoosti, Iranian star of Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar-nominated film, announced she will not be attending the awards.
The film also received the Best Actor and Best Screenplay awards at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.
