DC Studios
One of the last DC films produced before James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the studio is set to hit theaters this August.
The controversial DC film hits theaters on Friday, June 16.
The film was one of 10 projects announced for James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Studios slate.
"No one was minding the mint," James Gunn said. "They were just giving away IP like they were party favors to any creators who smiled at them."
Other projects such as "Waller" starring Viola Davis, a series about Wonder Woman's birthplace, and a film on "The Authority" are all in development.
"No one loves to be harassed or called names — but, to be frank, we’ve been through significantly worse," Gunn said.
Gunn and Peter Safran have spoken to Ben Affleck about directing a DC film.
"It was my understanding there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time," the director said.
