Lena Headey and Hannah Waddingham look back on the torturous shooting of the infamous scene that made them both “quite uncomfortable.”
Headey says it was “a really, really tough day” on set having to essentially waterboard her co-star.
Alongside an upcoming voice role in Netflix’s “Dark Crystal” prequel, the Emmy nominee is lining up the next phase of her TV career.
The scene was filmed for the HBO fantasy series’ controversial penultimate episode, “The Bells.”
Still, the star knows that creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss “couldn’t have pleased everyone.”
She probably made $300,000 per minute of screentime, though.
“I thought that’s what Arya’s drive has been,” Williams said of her character in the final season.
As the finale approaches, the time feels right to look back at the earlier, more innocent days of “Game of Thrones” — when, sure, sisters were still sleeping with their brothers and treachery still abounded. But at least there were puppies!
“It’s maybe the first time that Cersei has been at peace,” the actress says about her character’s big episode.
Headey ultimately came around on the decision to have her “Thrones” character give in to Euron Greyjoy’s demand.
