Oscar winners “Summer of Soul” and “The Queen of Basketball” are also nominated for 2022 Peabody Awards, which will be announced virtually from June 6 to 9.

The 79th Peabody Awards Board of Jurors has chosen the 30 programs it deems the “most compelling and empowering” for the year 2019.
The Career Achievement Award seeks to honor those “whose work and commitment to broadcasting and digital media have left an indelible mark on American culture.”
The Peabody Awards will be held in the heart of the entertainment industry for the first time in its history.

“The Americans” became the first drama series since “Breaking Bad” to win two Peabody Awards during its run.
Kartemquin Films also won an Institutional Award for its dedication to documentary filmmaking spanning more than 50 years.
Also nominated: “Pose,” “Shirkers,” “Killing Eve,” and “Hannah Gadsby: Nanette.” Ronan Farrow will host the May 18 awards ceremony.
