“The Royal Treatment” continues to reign on the Netflix chart while “The French Dispatch” remains strong.
“Dune” dropped to $19.99; Sony released “A Journal for Jordan” on PVOD less than three weeks after it opened in theaters.
The Netflix Top 10 is a quick-turnover list too, making the achievement of “Don’t Look Up” all the more remarkable.
All films other than the top two grossed $23 million. That’s rock bottom. Meantime, “Memoria” had a massive one-week-only New York run.
The musical represents the most ambitious sequence to date by Illumination in terms of design, costumes, animation, choreography, playlist, and performance.
Despite some plucky returning stars, a messy plot and the continued “Glee”-ification of the animated film’s soundtrack is simply more depressing than uplifting.
