The Writers Guild of America had publicly criticized the decision to host the Warner Bros. Discovery CEO during an ongoing writers strike.
While studios have mostly continued with putting on For Your Consideration events, even without the involvement of writers, the future of the Emmys broadcast itself remains a mystery.
