Voting ends for this year’s Oscar season on Tuesday, and it’s been a busy sprint to the finish line. Over the past week, a slew of awards shows have made their mark on an ever-changing awards season cycle, from Jane Campion’s flub (and subsequent apology) at the Critics Choice awards to Ryusuke Hamaguchi soaking in the spotlight alongside Lady Gaga at the New York Film Critics Circle. It’s a mad blitz to the end of a very long ride, and there are still surprises in store.
