Curated by the IndieWire Crafts team, Craft Considerations is a platform for filmmakers to talk about recent work that we believe is worthy of awards consideration.

In partnership with Amazon Studios, the above video with “The Underground Railroad” cinematographer James Laxton details his work in creating a distinct look for each chapter of the series. For the full discussion with key members of “The Underground Railroad” production team, including Laxton, production designer Mark Friedberg, and costume designer Caroline Eselin-Schaefer, read and watch more here.
